How to Tint Your Tail Lights with VHT

How to Tint Your Tail Lights with VHT

This is a two part video series on how to tint your tail lights with VHT. It is sped up to show you the details but in essence the procedure appears to be this:

  1. First sand the exterior of the tail lights so they are completely scuffed up.
  2. Paint thinner or alcohol used to wash off the lights so that the particles from the sanding are removed.
  3. Use the VHT NIght Shade to Spray the Lights.
  4. After Spray the Night Shades use a CLear Coat
  5. You're Done

Products Need to Tint Your Lights with VHT Night Shade

As you can see from the video and the descriptions, the process to black out your head or tail lights is pretty simple. In essence, you only need the following:

  • Fine Sand Paper
  • Alcohol or Paint Thinner
  • VHT Night Shade
  • Clear Coat

Spray Tint versus Tint Films

Some of the advantages to spray tint are obvious and include a truly factory look and completely black-out head or taillights. Yet, in my opinion, the disadvantages far outweigh the pros.

With sprays you must destroy the lights in order to tint them and if you mess up the job there's simply no going back. With the films you can simply remove the tint at a later date and preserve the value of your car and the lights. In the end the choice is up to you but caveat emptor!

Orange Smoke Vinyl Wraps - A True Factory Look

Orange Smoke Film - Vinyl Wraps for the JDM Experience

Rvinyl offers a huge variety of smoked vinyl films and the orange smoke is probably one of the more rare purchases. It may be that the orange/amber look is not in style right now or simply that the film just does too good of a job. When I received the customer rebate photos for the first time I seriously had to study the pictures to determine what was the wrapped section and what had come stock.

Features of Rtint Films

All Rtint colored films (except for the static cling) come as a 3-ply sheet: an upper protective layer to protect the vinyl from scuffing, a lower liner to protect the adhesive and the vinyl itself. This unique design ensures that the tint will not be damaged during transit or even during careless installation.

Another great feature of the film is that it is 100% optically clear which means you can se right through it without any issues. We do not recommend it for use on windows however.
